    New Banner?

On all of my forums this morning, I'm getting a banner near the top that says "Notice" in deep purple, followed by "SECURITY AND DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION CLICK HERE".

This looks like an ad, and I'm wondering if this is a new form of advertising that is being sold by CMF?

If you click through, it mentions that Vertical Scope (the owners of this forum) was hacked and user information was exposed.

I asked the same question yesterday, and received the answer below (posts #36 and 37):

i believe the owner guy of vertical scope - if memory serves me his name is something like laidlaw - i believe mister laidlaw sold a whack of his interest in the forum biz to the toronto Star?

    was a while ago
although less than a year ago
    if memory serves

ps it's true their announcement banner does look like malware
maybe they could change the font to Comic Sans Italic & add a warmly welcoming graphic cartoon

The wording certainly could have been chosen better...

Something like "important message from the moderators about the security and data breach", but then what do we lowly users know.

I'm not JustAGuy (without spaces), or Donald, or <insert name here>.
