Can we claim foreign Medical expenses ?

My mother-in-law is 72 y.o. and has PR status and living with us, as per CRA she is dependant and my wife can claim her medical expenses.... My mother-in-law had eye operation done out-of-Canada as well as some dental work.
Was curious is my wife can claim foreign Medical expenses?

    Cheers

    PS

It is not clear to me how being a dependent would change the filing process but it is promising.

Expenses for filer and spouse are on Line 330, and expenses for dependents are on Line 331. They have different deductibles.

I was responding to Eclectic. Yes, you can claim foreign medical expenses, for yourself, spouse, or eligible dependents

Ok, thanks guys.... looks like we're fully eligible to claim my mother-in-law expenses... I also read somewhere that we can claim also her flights to where she has surgery.... but i don't think we'll do it , don't want get CRA "angry" , as in theory she could've had same surgery/dental in Canada, but in Israel it's much cheaper and she trust Israeli doctors more....

The link says that there has to be no equivalent service available for 80+ Km for the flight/hotel etc. to be claimed. I would want to check the CRA details to make sure the tax group's description is correct.

Of course skipping claiming these items make it moot.

Are you talking about flight/hotel? From what I understand if we claim only medical expenses, it should be fine

Hmmm ... maybe you need another jolt of coffee or something?

I expected saying "for the flight/hotel" would make it clear that I was referring to, well the flight/hotel and not the medical expenses.
Then too, the link posted in post #2 has a separate heading for "Medical Expenses" and the heading "Travel and Transportation Expenses" for the part about flight/hotel that was referred to.

Bottom line is that would expect the flight to be relatively significant so before giving up on the flight/hotel, I would want to spend a bit of time making sure CRA has this restriction.

    Cheers
