I personally have 15% in small caps, but I am young and it's far to the conservative end of the small cap world which suits me fine. As for what is right for you, you would have to look at your own situation, needed returns, risk tolerance etc. I'm confident in what I'm doing, but am sure that it likely doesn't suit your situation.
