ok so cmfadmins have moved it into a sticky.

isn't there a section for freebie offers under general discussion ? other companies put their offers there.

the questrade offer is an adlet, it's not about investing.

the regular cmf forum ads are fine imho. In fact they are well-designed & appealing. But a sticky like this, in the wrong section, screams out that cmf forum can be bought for cheap pennies. Not pleasant ...

Would you prefer an alternative such having to buy a membership in exchange for less or no ads?

no cmf forum member could be more supportive of the ads than i have been. My messages exist to prove this & the admins probably know this is the case.

whereas i have never seen one single message from four. pillars. praising or supporting the ads in any fashion.

the issue i wish to raise is that transient freebie offers belong in their own section under General Discussion. They have nothing to do with investing.

Given that you (and nobody else) just started a new thread to complain about an ad, clearly this statement is false and you are not the most supportive member of the ads.

Not sure why this is relevant, but I guess you missed this post from Monday:

I agree with humblepie. I've noticed an increasing number of 'plugs' (aka. spam) in CMF that seems to have turned this into a spam board with various individuals never missing a chance to support certain companies or with individuals signing up to post aggressive sales pitches and the like. What's happening to CMF? Are commercial interests taking over?
