It is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of law. You need a new tree to bark up.

It looks like you have been suckered by alt-left fake news again. There is no "law" that makes it magically legal to disclose private tax information simply because someone dropped in in a mailbox.

Please provide the relevant ruling/law that supports your claim.

    US Constitution........First Amendment.

First Amendment - Religion and Expression. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Whomever released the information to the press committed a crime. It isn't a crime to publish it after it is released.

Whomever released the information could have nailed it to a tree. People could have copied it and spread it around.

The crime was performed by whomever obtained and released the information, not for copying it and spreading it around.

In Trumpland, wiretapping does not mean wire tapping.

"When I say wiretapping, those words were in quotes. That really covers -- because wiretapping is pretty old-fashioned stuff -- but that really covers surveillance and many other things. And nobody ever talks about the fact that it was in quotes, but that's a very important thing,"
Most of us simply roll our eyes.

    Trump supporters fall for it.

America's foes - N. Korea, Iran, Russia, Syria - they're busy capitalizing on the disarray in the W.H.

Yeah...why bother with a valid argument when you can nit pick word choice instead. That really showed everyone!!

And then there is sags who says that the media can legally release private tax information if USPS drops it in their mail box

I almost feel sorry for some of the left who have nothing left but nit picking words, outright lies, fake news, and daily meltdowns. Almost, but not really

Trump tried to use word salad to walk back his false accusation against Obama after the Speaker of the House and the Senate Intelligence Committee declared that there was no evidence to back up the allegations. That's typical for individuals who are caught in a lie.

Sags is correct about US law. There is no law against publishing data received anonymously via the mail or private courier. The United States, for all its problems, is not a totalitarian regime that uses tax privacy law to prevent the free press from releasing information about the president.

The investigation into Russia will continue, despite Trump's best efforts to suppress it.
