Any chance you can add support for Tapatalk to the forum? It's free I believe, the cost is born by the people buying the apps. It'd allow us to use the forum from an iPhone, iPad, Android, or Blackberry device in a much easier form.

Another member mentioned tapatalk before, but it fell off the radar. I'll take a look.

Thanks! It'd mean no more zooming my phone in and out constantly, or browsing the forum from my work computer. :)

Yes tapatalk is easy to install and easy to use for members :). No ad revenue though... :p

I wonder if tapatalk displays third party ads on their own. Do other big forums use tapatalk?

No ads on Tapatalk at least not on the iPhone but it's a paid app. It doesn't go through their servers though it just connects directly to the forum.

Many very large sites use Tapatalk, I'd say probably all of the big players and many more, there are 1000's

There's mention of a revenue generating app named VigLink in the Tapatalk FAQ. I think it automatically modifies any external link to include your affiliate ID, assuming the link points to one of their known affiliates.

The MobileRead forums just use an alternate PHP format and run it on their .mobi link. Seems to work just fine...

Try it. (http://www.mobileread.mobi/forums/index.php?)

That isn't too bad, but I suspect that adding the phpBB plugin would be easier.

If Tapatalk ever happens, it's free on GetJar right now.

Most of the big forums I use support Tapatalk. I think adding something that enhances the forum could easily indirectly increase ads hits from users..... (If Zuckerberg only cared about his ad hits and not user experience, FB would have certainly been another flash in the pan)

My initial hesitation was that it was a paid app, so only a limited number of users would benefit. Our original plan was to develop a mobile skin so that everyone would be able to access the site via mobile browser, instead of visiting a paid third party app.

However, with tapatalk being free, that changes things. Would any other members like to see tapatalk functionality?

lol tapatalk is not compatible with my BlackBerry 9900 :(

Mobile skins are very nice as well. You can also put those in the app store, or people can make a bookmark to look like an app etc. Tapatalk is just easier to setup and holds all the forums in 1 place. Could even do both

Do it! I visit forums on my phone all the time but skip this one because no tapatalk.

Years ago I visited a financial forum that also used paltalk. It provides audio and text messaging. It can be added to this website.

Here are links that I found using stock market as the search words.

I visit the site on my phone already and it's very usable, but I'm all for making it even faster. :)

I bought the TapaTalk app for iPhone for use with another forum. It's FANTASTIC.

I'd be very pleased to see support added on this forum. :)

Why don't you go to the bottom of this page and select "default mobile style" for your smartphone.

We recently upgraded the Forum software. The new upgrade already provides a mobile skin for the forum. Is there anything Tapatalk provides that isn't already available?

Yeah it's way easier to post with and read, find stuff etc.

I think the mobile format does the trick. Thanks CC.

Is there a way to change it back from the mobile?

KCowan has touched on the reason why Tap-A-Talk is a good thing: there's no need to "switch" anything - on your mobile device, it just "is" correct in the Tap-A-Talk app.

I'm a moderator on another forum and moderation as well as general forum browsing via Tap-A-Talk is fantastic.

I suppose all I can suggest if you're unsure is to try it. Perhaps invest in the mobile app and try a different forum using the app.
