I rarely use it.........but I was late paying for one trip, so they sent me a bill for .19 cents.

I was late paying that, so they sent me a bill for .01 cent.

The postage cost them 1.20............lol................

It seems to be 50 Kms. each for paper billing and pre-authorized payments.
So if you have either/both of these already, you get only half (or none).

Anyone foolish enough to give 407 access to their bank account is in for a world of suffering.

Never give anyone access to your bank account. If you use a service, pay for it. Don't let them take it.

You can sign up for pre-authorized billing using a credit card.

That's only marginally better.

No, it's better for them to send me a bill. When it arrives I will pay it. I don't believe in giving anyone permission to automatically take the funds from me, whether CC or bank account.

Why is that? I pay every bill possible though automatic payment, particularly the ones that accept Visa. Have done so for many years with zero headaches just lots of points for free flights using my Avion card.

I used to overpay all my bills so I would have a credit balance and not have to pay them as often but stopped doing that a few years ago.
