Which stock would you consider if were thinking about most sustainable dividend and current yield at least 3%.
On TSX can it be BCE, RCI, any of Canadian banks?
On NYSE: I'd think about : PG, JNJ, PEP....
Any other ideas?

Personally I'd go with the banks for sustainability of dividends... they're the only ones I can see generally making a killing from higher interest rates (since they have reissued so much pref/long term debt at such low rates and could lend it out at higher margins with higher rates), whereas everyone else takes at least somewhat of a profit hit from higher rates. If rates stay the same they should also be fine, and I really can't imagine rates going down at this point, although that would be their big weakness.

Bank of Nova Scotia has been paying dividends since 1833. That's pretty good.

ABT/PFE can have problems with patents expiration, Oil - who knows if "green" energy won't hit it hard.
ENB - yield less 3%...but FTS can be considered.
